LOVE THIS ARTICLE APPRECIATE THE CANDID FEEDBACK ON THE ALBUM that is also so clearly rooted in love. I love using the word goofy to describe it because I feel like that is so true, but in a very loving and demeaning way at all? Which also I think fits the title - virgin? And the goofiness that can be when you’re growing up from a girl to a woman. It feels goofy, not graceful, even if every one under the sun insists it is graceful - or should be seen as graceful.
Some of the lyrics absolutely kill me because of the corniness but favourite daughter made me cry (in a good way) and I really love how unique clear blue sounds and I really love current affairs (if I can ignore the reference) I also really like broken glass as well. It’s fun to get something new from her! And it’s fun we are experiencing it during the summer! LOVE your takes/voice!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!! You put the goofy/graceful/weirdness of it all so well--I will always always give Lorde the benefit of the doubt, but this one might take a bit more time to grow on me :))
Thank you!!! And yes. I totally feel that. Listening right now and I’m like I don’t know if I can forgive her for “your metal detector hits my precious treasure” 😀😀😀😀 buuut we all make bad art sometimes so it’s okay
Now this the kind of music journalism I like “Don’t know if love or ovulation” the cringe I cringed just now 😂haven’t listened to the whole album yet. Also what about the controversy with the clear CD’s !!! 💿 oh Lorde!
AGREED GINNY. "Stoned at the Nail Salon" is one of the best songs of her career!!! She had a vision and it was executed perfectly!!! You knew the whole time!!! #ginnyisarealfan
you adn I had the exact same thoughts
“The PowerPoint needs to be updated” almost made me hyena cackle in the middle of a meeting
all I want is to disrupt meetings with laughter
Please tell me that red shirt isn’t real………….
FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS
The goofy ass “my mamas trauma” also made me scream TAYLOR!!! Your takes reflect my own on this album.
I am a “If she could see me now” truther!!! Great read

the clear cds are CRAZyyyy such an unreasonably dumb problem
I agree with everything you said but none of it takes me out of the album except GRWM, which is still kind of charmingly stupid lol
here's hoping it'll grow on us
but what about Solar Power? that was a REAL artistic masterpiece!
